  • Position Summary

    Maintenance Technician(Diesel Technician): Cheyenne, WY

    The Diesel Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and completing preventative maintenance on a Fleet of Heavy Duty Trucks, Trailers and Field Service Equipment. This position requires a working knowledge related to diesel engine diagnosis, repairs and maintenance. An understanding of electrical, hydraulics, PM, DOT inspections, PC and some software knowledge is required. We need someone with current experience, who has not been out of the business for more than two years at most!

    Oil industry and equipment experience highly desired. Extremely competitive hourly rates with high overtime potential!

    Pay: Depends on your experience. Meals and lodging are provided at no cost!

    Shift: 10 days on and 4 days off (4:30 pm-4:30 am) = 12 hour days (lots of OT!)

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform diagnosis and repair of any trucks, trailers or oil field equipment breakdowns
    • Repair and rebuild engines
    • Repair transmissions, driveline and differentials
    • Perform repairs to engine accessory components
    • Perform tune-ups using established procedures
    • Repair steering, suspensions, oil fracing equipment, brake systems, turbos, basic engine repairs, frames, axles, electrical, PMS hydraulic and a/c repairs
    • Road test vehicles to ensure quality of work performed

    Key Competencies and Minimum Education

    Position Qualifications

    • Minimum 4-7 years of mechanic experience on heavy duty diesel(or degree obtained in Diesel Technology)
    • Caterpillar certification (engine and transmissions) highly desired as they make up the bulk of the equipment engines
    • Hydraulics and electronics background
    • Heavy front end and brakes experience required
    • Welding experience
    • Strong Diagnostics and preventative maintenance
    • Satisfy all Department of Transportation requirements
    • Good ethics and integrity with a high attention to detail
