  • Position Summary

    Amerit Fleet Solutions is looking to hire an experienced Technician to join our A-Team.  This position requires up 100% of travel throughout the nation.  The Technician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of light to heavy duty vehicles.  


    Light to Heavy Duty Technician

    • Responsible for deploying to locations where we are short staffed and/or opening new locations. 
    • This position is for someone willing to travel 7 out of every 8 weeks. 
    • Travel can be up to 90% of the time
    • Amerit will cover travel expenses. 
    • Non travel weeks will be spent building out Mobile Service Center trucks and completing other projects. 
    • This is a good step for someone who would like to transition into a management role.
    • Working alongside Fleet Managers and Senior Fleet Managers. 
    • We most recently promoted an employee that was in this roll to a Vendor Fleet Manager.

    When will I get paid? Paid weekly, every Friday

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities


    • Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
    • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
    • Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
    • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
    • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle
    • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
    • Perform other duties as required 

    Key Competencies and Minimum Education


    • Must have at least 5 years' experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance.
    • Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
    • Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds
    • Must provide own hand tools
    • Perform DOT inspections
    • Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
    • Basic computer skills
    • Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
    • Must be able to work with or around chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
