Senior Accountant

This role supports key accounting operations, leads month-end close activities, ensures financial accuracy, and contributes to process improvements across the organization. Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 base salary depending on experience

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Own assigned month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, coordinating with cross-functional partners to obtain required information, resolve issues, and meet reporting deadlines.
• Prepare, upload, and post accurate journal entries and accruals with complete supporting documentation.
• Prepare timely account reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, resolve discrepancies, and maintain complete support for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Prepare schedules and analyses for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and support the timely completion of financial reporting packages.
• Analyze account activity and financial results, investigate significant or unusual variances, document conclusions, and communicate findings and recommended actions to accounting and business partners.
• Research and document technical accounting matters, prepare clear accounting conclusions, and support the implementation of applicable guidance in accordance with GAAP and Company policies.
• Maintain effective internal controls and complete assigned control activities, including preparing documentation and supporting internal and external audit requests.
• Partner cross-functionally to provide financial insights, relevant reporting, and responsive support to stakeholders.
• Use approved artificial intelligence and automation tools to streamline accounting processes, enhance data analysis, and improve financial reporting. Validate outputs, document key judgments, protect confidential information, and comply with Company data governance and internal control requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and consistency.
• Prepare ad hoc analyses and perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Key Competencies:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and/or industry, including experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to research and apply relevant FASB guidance; experience with SEC reporting requirements preferred if applicable.
• Experience with cost of goods sold and accounting in a manufacturing or similar operational environment preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP or equivalent lookup functions, and the ability to organize and analyze large data sets.
• Experience using, or demonstrated aptitude for learning, approved AI-enabled tools for accounting research, data analysis, process automation, and continuous improvement. Ability to validate outputs, recognize limitations, protect confidential financial information, and apply sound professional judgment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and meet tight deadlines in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting matters clearly to cross-functional partners.
