Trailer Technician/Mechanic – Midlothian, TX

 

$27.00 - $30.00 hr | Weekly Pay | Full Benefits within 30 Days

Pay & Schedule

 

Pay: $28.00 – $30.00/hour (based on experience)
Pay Frequency: Weekly pay – every Friday
Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday 12:00pm - 10:30pm *4x10hr shift

What You’ll Do

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trailers
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
  • Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
  • Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years’ of hands-on experience performing class 7 - 8 trailer maintenance and repairs
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position (detailed below)
  • Must be eligible to pass standard pre-employment screenings, including drug screen and DOT physical (if required)

Working Conditions

 

This role involves working in a mobile, outside and/or shop environment with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases. Technicians must be able to perform essential job functions that include frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces. This position requires regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment. Technicians may be required to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms and must be able to safely perform duties in various weather conditions. Due to the active work environment and movement of large vehicles, the ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace is required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

What the Trailer Technician role looks like:

  • Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
  • Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
  • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
  • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Perform other duties as required

Key Competencies and Minimum Education

What our ideal candidate looks like:

  • Must have at least 2 years' experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance.
  • Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
  • Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds
  • Must provide own hand tools
  • Perform DOT inspections
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
