Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions is a leading provider of fleet maintenance and repair services across the United States. Backed by New Mountain Capital, Amerit is rapidly expanding through both acquisitions and organic growth.  

 

The Finance Director will have full scope financial responsibility for business and all financial operations, billing, accounts payable, treasury and also leading the month end closing procedures including but not limited to journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures.  A key leadership role, the Finance Director will be critical member of the management team and looking for a leader that can scale with a fast growing new division of Amerit and assume incremental responsibility rapidly.

 

This position supervise and mentor a staff within the accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable groups. This is a comprehensive position that requires a solid understanding of all aspects of accounting and finance.

 

Compensation: Competitive Salary Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! $165,000 - $175,000 base salary depending on experience and location; this role is also bonus-eligible

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly financial reporting to local and corporate management, including preparation and submission of subsidiary financial results for corporate consolidation.
  • Oversee the month-end close process, ensuring accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC606.
  • Assists Shop Managers and other leaders in ascertaining acceptable operating efficiency and profitability levels and is the primary finance business partner for the group.
  • Lead finance support for the annual budgeting processes.
  • Own monthly review including variance analysis versus forecasts, balance sheet reviews, and account reconciliations.
  • Oversee day-to-day treasury and working capital activities, including cash management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions to ensure liquidity, timely payments, and effective collections.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
  • Coordinate matching of intercompany and intersegment balances among parties.
  • Review account reconciliations for compliance and adherence to US GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Coordinate with external auditors to support the annual audit procedures.
  • Work cross-functionally with various departments to provide financial insights and relevant reporting.
  • Manage sales and use tax compliance, including timely preparation, review, and filing of returns, while ensuring adherence to applicable state and local tax regulations.
  • Verify payroll and accounts payable runs, assisting in the processing as needed.
  • Support the operating team across the business as a key member of the management team providing proactive advice and recommendations.

 

Key Competencies and Minimum Education:

  • 3+ years of management experience
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting or finance preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP
  • Exposure to ASC 606 and 842 a plus.
  • Knowledge of cost of goods sold similar to a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including x-lookups and pivot tables
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail and desire for continuous improvement and learning.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration, flexibility and proactiveness.
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize workload while meeting tight deadlines
