Job Title: Vice President of Operations & General Manager (Government)
Reports To: Executive Vice President
FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
This position’s primary responsibility is to ensure safety is the center point of company operations, oversee contract location teams, Director of Operations and contractual relationships with clients. This responsibility involves ensuring operational standards are maintained, training and development is supported for all team members and maintaining exceptional relationships with all client stakeholders. May attend trade shows and conferences to support company growth. Will work with Director of Operations and Site Managers on national vendor contract compliance. Will work with Business Development team on technical items with proposal development. This position is based remotely, with some travel to corporate offices as needed.
Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. In addition to interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
This is a remote-based position with strong preference for candidates residing in TX or FL.
Compensation: Competitive Salary Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! Salary $180,000-220,000 annually plus performance-based incentive plan!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensures safety programs and procedures are the number one priority
• Contract management, ensuring performance and legal compliance
• Demonstrates a strong sense of mission in the development and execution of a strategic business plan.
• Motivates others by establishing clear vision as to the needs necessary to ensure success in profit performance, client relations, and business development.
• Effectively interacts with others by demonstrating high degree of credibility and is responsible for the development of initiatives in support of, and development of subordinates
• Directly supervises VFM contract staff and Directors of Operations ensuring operational policies and procedures are implemented fairly and consistently
• Implements programs in support of Human Resources goals and objectives, ensures consistency in administration of company policies and procedures for effective and positive employee relations
• Executes sales plans as assigned by executive team
• Work with Business Development and Marketing on new proposals
• Provide daily, weekly, and monthly status updates to Executive Team
• Ensure compliance with VFM specific Purchasing Guidebook processes
• Tracking issues with clients for resolution
• P&L management and planning
• Forecast contract revenue and FOP
• Work on annual budgeting with Executive Team
• Oversight of new contracts prior to the assignment of a Director of Operations
• Learn and be efficient after training sessions with Vector’s various fleet maintenance software platforms
• Frequent national travel up to 80%
• Other duties may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Leadership experience of large, geographically dispersed operational teams
• At least 10 years of class 1-8 vehicles or equipment management
• Must have experience with government parts and fleet management
• Transportation Industry experience (specifically knowledge of Fleet Maintenance) i.e. Heavy Duty trucking, Over the Road or On Road Delivery Fleet preferred
• MUST be willing to travel at least 50%
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Experience with CRM (ex. Salesforce.com) – considered highly beneficial
• Advanced working knowledge of MS Office, with a focus on Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• Ability to articulate complex solutions to prospects from local Managers to C-level officers
• Discipline: a proven track record as a self-starter and adherence to sales metrics with a very strong work ethic
• Strong customer orientation, with a high level of comfort making cold calls and quickly developing rapport with prospective clients
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and operational level

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances, lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items. The noise level is consistent with those in an office environment.
