Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the U.S., is seeking an experienced, inspired and mission-driven Director, People Partners to join our growing team! 

 

Position Overview

The Director, People Business Partners is responsible for driving the effectiveness and impact of Amerit’s People Business Partners. This role focuses on building a high-performing PBP team that partners closely with business leaders to drive organizational effectiveness, engagement and performance.

This role will work in close partnership with the Employee Relations (ER) function to ensure alignment on employee matters, while enabling PBPs to proactively support leaders through strong coaching, workforce planning, and talent strategies. The ideal candidate brings a balance of strategic thinking, operational excellence, and strong leadership capability in a multi-site environment.

 

Compensation: $175,000 to $ 185,000 base plus bonus, depending on experience

 

Location: Charlotte, NC

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Team Leadership & PBP Excellence

  • Lead, coach and develop People Business Partners (PBP) supporting diverse functions and geographies
  • Drive consistency and quality in PBP support across the organization
  • Partner with the AVP to evolve and scale the People Partner model

 

Strategic Business Partner

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, and engagement while mitigating risk.
  • Guide PBPs in delivering proactive, data-informed insights to their business leaders.
  • Support leaders through change management, team effectiveness, and organizational growth.
  • Help PBPs work effectively within the new PBP/ER model
  • Reinforce role clarity and escalation discipline
  • Support leaders through complex situations without collapsing back into an overly reactive HRBP model
  • Partner closely with the Employee Relations team on escalated and complex employee matters.
  • Ensure PBPs are effectively identifying, escalating, and partnering on ER issues in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Reinforce best practices that balance employee experience with risk mitigation and compliance.
  • Support leadership coaching in navigating employee issues, in alignment with ER guidance.

Data & Insights

  • Track and analyze HR metrics.
  • Enable PBPs to use data to inform decisions and recommendations to the business.
  • Partner with leadership to translate insights into action

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
  • 8+ years progressive HR experience with senior leadership exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local labor and employment laws required; international knowledge a plus.
  • Experience in multi-site, operational environments strongly preferred.
  • Union relations and contract negotiation experience a plus.
