Trailer Technician / Mechanic – Cedar Rapids, IA
$28–$34/hr (DOE) | Paid Weekly | Potential $2,500 Sign-On Bonus
Amerit Fleet Solutions, a leader in fleet maintenance across the U.S., is hiring an experienced Trailer Technician/Mechanic in Cedar Rapids, IA. Schedule: Sunday – Thursday | 6am-2:30pm
What You’ll Do
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Class 7–8 trailers
- Conduct DOT inspections and complete safety documentation
- Diagnose mechanical issues and ensure equipment is operating safely
- Inspect undercarriages and critical components
- Remove, install, and transport parts as needed
- Maintain accurate service records (manual and digital)
- Follow all safety standards, company policies, and regulations
What You Bring
- Minimum 2+ years of trailer or heavy-duty vehicle maintenance experience
- Ability to perform DOT inspections
- Experience operating manual transmission vehicles
- Own your own hand tools
- Basic computer and documentation skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Physical ability to lift, bend, crouch, and work in various conditions
