Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Diesel/Trailer Technician! The Diesel/Trailer Technician position is responsible for timely repair and maintenance of light- heavy duty fleet vehicles, trailers, and various equipment to ensure a safe and efficient operation. The Diesel/Trailer Technician position requires high level of proficiency and working knowledge related to diesel engine diagnostics, brakes, tires, AC, and PM services.
Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday!
Pay: $35-42/hr, depending on experience
Work schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
- Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
- Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
- Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
- Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
- Non travel weeks will be spent building Mobile Service Center trucks and completing other projects
- Working closely with Fleet Managers and Senior Fleet Managers.
- Up to 100% travel time
- Perform other duties as required
Key Competencies and Minimum Education
- Must have at least 5 years experience performing maintenance on heavy-duty diesel trucks and semi-trailers.
- Must have structural repair experience on trailers.
- Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds.
- Must provide own hand tools
- Perform DOT inspections
- Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
- Basic computer skills
- Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
Working Conditions
- Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
- Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
- Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
- Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
- Ability to move and position heavy objects
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
