Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic/Technician to join our team in the New St. James Parrish, LA area.  If you have at least five years of proven Heavy Equipment Mechanic experience we want to hear from you! CDL “A or B” is a real plus!

 

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! $35.00-45.00 per hour depending on experience!

 

Shift: Tuesday-Friday 6:00am-4:00pm.  On Call every other weekend.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Heavy Equipment Mechanic should have a minimum of 5 years hands-on experience
  • Volvo/CAT/Komatsu experience a plus
  • Perform PMI's on all types of powered equipment
  • Perform selected repairs on equipment involving the summary of components and systems 
  • Test drive all types of vehicles
  • Heavy Equipment Mechanic will train and assist other mechanics 
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work area and environment. Including but not limited to cleaning shop equipment, floors, and fluid containment areas
  • Complete set of hand tools and wheeled tool box suitable for daily use
  • Acceptable driving record and pass drug test and background check
  • Heavy Equipment Mechanics with OEM training and/or ASE certifications are preferred

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
  • Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
  • Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
  • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
  • Ability to move and position heavy objects
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
