The Travel Diesel Technician position is responsible for deploying to locations and performing a variety of safety inspections. Our role requires expertise with all major components and functions, including the power unit, drive train, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Be able to support a variety of customers. Travel required, with a minimum of 10 business days and 4 days off rotation, if the customer allows. Preferred Las Vegas region, will travel the West Coast Washington, California, and possibly North Dakota.
Shift: Mostly Weekdays, some clients have a Saturday shift. Days/Swing Hours 8 am - 5 pm or 2 pm - 10:30 pm
Pay: $38.00 hr - $43.00 hr

What the Travel Technician role looks like:
- Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
- Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare the safety documentation required
- Inspect and perform work on the underparts of vehicles
- Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
- Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on the vehicle
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
- Non travel weeks will be spent building Mobile Service Center trucks and completing other projects
- Working closely with Fleet Managers and Senior Fleet Managers.
- Up to 90% travel time
- Perform other duties as required
What our ideal candidate looks like:
- Must have at least 5 years of experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance.
- Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
- Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind the cab using normally available footholds and handholds.
- Must provide own hand tools
- Perform DOT inspections
- Ability to follow instructions and complete required training
- Basic computer skills
- Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
- Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
- Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
- Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
- Ability to move and position heavy objects
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
