Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Diesel/Reefer Technician! In this role, you’ll perform timely repairs and preventative maintenance on medium- to heavy-duty fleet vehicles, including diesel engines and refrigerated (reefer) units, to ensure safe and efficient operations. You’ll leverage your expertise in diesel diagnostics, reefer systems (e.g., Thermo King, Carrier), and preventative maintenance to support our mission-critical fleet services, with opportunities for growth and professional development.

 

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! $40-$46 per hour, depending on expereince!

 

Shift: Sunday - Thursday: 11:00am - 7:30pm

What the Diesel/Reefer Technician role looks like:

  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on medium- to heavy-duty diesel vehicles and reefer units (e.g., Thermo King, Carrier).
  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, and air conditioning units with high proficiency.
  • Conduct safety inspections and prepare required documentation, ensuring compliance with DOT, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle records and reports manually and via computer systems (e.g., Fleet Management Systems).
  • Install and remove parts, accessing all vehicle areas to perform necessary maintenance.
  • Interact with clients via email or phone to provide updates and ensure satisfaction.

What our ideal candidate looks like:

  • 5+ years of experience in vehicle maintenance or an auto/diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school.
  • Expertise in diesel engine diagnostics, reefer unit repairs (Thermo King and/or Carrier), and preventative maintenance.
  • EPA 608 Certification required or obtainable within 90 days of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license (Class A or B Required).
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles for diagnostic purposes.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and email.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and client interaction.
  • Must provide own hand tools and toolbox.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
  • Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
  • Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
  • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
  • Ability to move and position heavy objects.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
