Position Summary

The Diesel Equipment Technician in Winchester, Kentucky, is responsible for timely repair and maintenance of medium-duty vehicles and their associated aerial lift systems to ensure a safe and efficient operation. Operate vehicles and test all working parts in various functions to ensure proper operation. Fantastic region for the Lexington and Frankfort, Kentucky population. Quick drive to the nearest client location, and you can pick up our mobile truck, start work and support our shops from Louisville, KY to Maysville, KY. This position requires Hydraulic repair knowledge. Open to mechanics with a Diesel background, Forklift, ASEs are a plus, but we will pay for them.

 

Monday -  Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm 

$28.00 - $31.00 hour

Essential Duties:

 

  • Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance to vehicles and associated equipment
  • Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare required safety documentation
  • Inspect and perform work under vehicles
  • Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on the vehicle
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Interact with clients through both email and phone as necessary
  • Perform other duties as required

 

Key Components:

 

  • At least 3 years of experience performing vehicle maintenance and/or expertise in repairing Hydraulics, Aerial Lifts, Bucket Trucks.
  • Region covering Maysville, Kentucky, to Louisville, Kentucky. A mobile truck is provided. Lexington, Kentucky, location will be helpful.
  • Experience in repairing bucket lifts on mobile units. These lift units consist of Altec, Versalift, and Telstus.
  • ASE Certifications preferred.
  • CDL A or B is a plus. 
  • Must provide own hand tools & toolbox.
  • Proficient computer skills: knowledge of Excel, Word, Fleet Management Systems, and Email
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)

 

Working Conditions:

 

  • Exposure to heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job.
  • Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise.
  • Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
  • Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
  • Ability to move and position heavy objects
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions.
