Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading Fleet Maintenance companies in the U.S., is seeking a dynamic Senior Environmental Program Manager/Environmental Program Manager to join our growing EHS team! Reporting to the EHS Director of Environmental Compliance. This remote position plays a crucial role in building world class environmental compliance assurance programs from the ground up. As a technical lead, your expertise shapes operational excellence and builds a strong compliance and safety culture across the Amerit enterprise footprint (across US).
This is a technical lead role (no direct reports) who serves as the lead environmental compliance lead expert and as the EHS lead for launching new sites/shops. Extensive cross-functional and multi-level collaboration will be required.
Compensation: Competitive salary pay – paid weekly, every Friday! Salary range: $100,000.00 - $145,000.00 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factor

Key Responsibilities:
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed below, the Senior Environmental Program Manager / Environmental Program Manager may also be tasked with supporting business needs across EHS, helping manage risks, and acting as a steward for additional programs as assigned.
Environmental Compliance
• Develop and facilitate the successful implementation of environmental compliance programs to ensure that field locations have the practical tools they need to comply with regulatory requirements, utilize best industry practices, and meet environmental goals. Programs may include, but may not be limited to, areas such as: Waste Oil Handling, Chemical Management, Scrap Tire Disposal, Spill, Pollution, Prevention, and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan.
• Facilitate implementation of continuous improvement and compliance assurance programs to ensure that sites comply with applicable regulatory requirements and are always “inspection ready”. Create practical audit/inspection checklists and other follow-up methods to assist field staff in
gauging compliance with regulations and program requirements
• Communicate regularly with field staff to gather feedback and continuously improve environmental programs and the compliance assurance process.
• Maintain a legal registry of applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
• Ensure ongoing environmental regulatory compliance obligations and client requirements are met across the Amerit enterprise.
• Conduct audits, risk assessments, and corrective action planning.
New Business Integrations and Segment Expansions
• Leads and coordinates all EHS support activities for launching new shops.
• Develops and provides EHS guidance to Project Management Office (PMO), Launch Operations, and Field Operations for launching new shops, new business integrations, and segment expansions.
• Review local, state, and federal regulations as needed. Be able to address current regulatory risks and identify future compliance challenges. Escalate risks to management in a timely manner and offer practical solutions for mitigation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
Customer Engagement (Internal and External)
• Tailor solutions to meet specific business needs, achieving compliance through strategic engagement and partnership with key stakeholders
• Actively engage with customers in their workspaces to gain insights into their processes and business operations
• Act as the face of the EHS function both within Amerit and externally. Leverage specialized expertise to represent the company at external engagements
• Fosters effective partnerships across different functions and roles.
• Serve as the corporate subject matter expert on environmental compliance.
EHS Team Leadership
• Lead EHS initiatives with medium to high regulatory requirements, risks, and complexity.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to EHS staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
KPIs ,Permits & Reporting
• Develop and track program metrics to measure effectiveness, customer adoption, business interruption, cost, and risk. Collaborate with EHS Compliance Managers, general managers, and field management to create sustainable improvement plans
• Track and report key environmental metrics and KPIs.
• Oversee, prepare, and submit regulatory reports and filings.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and external auditors.
Qualifications
• BS degree from an accredited 4-year college or university with a major in a physical science, life science, engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, or other relevant field.
• 8+ years of progressive EHS experience, with at least 3 years in a compliance program management role.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CHMM, CSP, REM) is a plus.
• Must be able to read local, state, and federal regulations and translate the requirements into practical implementation guidance for employees at all levels of the organization.
• Must exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to work with limited direction and guidance.
• Must be able to multi-task and develop/implement solutions to a wide range of potentially difficult problems in a geographically diverse organization.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time to field locations
