Position Summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance and management companies in the U.S., is seeking a dedicated DOT Vehicle Compliance Specialist to join our growing compliance team. This critical role is focused on ensuring Amerit’s regulated fleet operates safely and remains compliant with all applicable federal regulations and company policies. We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional who excels at managing data, collaborating across departments, and driving continuous improvement in vehicle compliance performance.

 

Compensation: Competitive Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Track and monitor key regulatory compliance metrics, including:
    • DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report) completion and submission rates.
    • Open defect resolution timelines and documentation
    • Annual vehicle inspection compliance
    • Preventive maintenance (PM) schedule adherence
    • Hours of Service (HoS) compliance metrics
  • Analyze compliance data to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for operational improvement.
  • Collaborate with field operations and fleet teams to address and resolve compliance gaps promptly.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for vehicle compliance, performance data and inquiries.
  • Prepare compliance reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders, supporting leadership visibility into fleet compliance health. Dashboards will be built by IT, would need to partner with IT to identify the data and support dashboard creation and testing.
  • Partner with IT and telematics providers to ensure data integrity across systems, including Samsara and fleet management tools.
  • Maintain accurate and organized compliance records to support internal reviews and regulatory audits.
  • Assist in developing and implementing outreach and training initiatives to improve field compliance performance.
  • Perform other compliance-related duties as assigned.

Key Competencies and Minimum Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, transportation, compliance, or a related field preferred but not required. Relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • 1-3 years of experience in fleet compliance, vehicle regulatory compliance, logistics, or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with FMCSA vehicle compliance requirements, including DVIRs, annual inspections, and Hours of Service regulations, is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and making actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across various departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience with telematics systems (e.g., Samsara) and compliance tracking platforms is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively in a remote environment supporting a geographically diverse workforce.
