Position Summary

The Vice President of Fleet Solutions will lead and oversee the Fleet Solutions Segment. This senior leadership role will execute the long term vision & strategy by building a high performance team to develop and implement innovative solutions for our customers.   

This leader will create six departments within this segment: fleet acquisition & disposal, fleet compliance (title, registration, DQF, tolls, civil penalties), fleet fueling solutions, fleet accident claims support, program management & fleet analytics and the operations support team (24/7 on call support). 

 

Must be based in Charlotte or Phoenix, Hybrid

 

Compensation: Competitive Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday! Salary Range: $190,000 - $225,000 base. Base depending on experience and a bonus incentive plan

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Vision:
    • Develop and execute the fleet operations strategy, aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement performance metrics for fleet efficiency and operational success.
    • Work cross-functionally with our sales & general managers to ensure fleet operations are integrated and solutioning our customers’ goals & metrics.
  2. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Recruit & develop high performing leaders for all departments.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team members for all departments of the segment. 
    • Foster a culture of innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Provide regular performance evaluations, set clear objectives, and ensure ongoing training and development opportunities for fleet staff.
  3. Fleet Management:
    • Work with sales and general managers to identify fleet solutions that solve our customers’ pain points, improve operations efficiency, increase uptime, lower costs and support any ad hoc requests pertaining to their fleet. 
    • Develop and implement processes and program manage solutions to support our customers’ requirements for fleet management.
    • Implement fleet technology solutions (e.g., telematics, fleet management software) to enhance fleet performance, reduce costs, and improve overall service delivery for our customers.
  4. Financial & P&L Ownership:
    • Develop and manage the fleet operations budget, revenue model, and pricing model to align with the company’s overall budget and growth goals.
    • Identify opportunities for increased revenue by solutioning customer pain points and by developing partnerships with our 3rd party providers to increase our shared savings. 
    • Provide financial forecasting, reporting, and analysis related to fleet expenses and investments.
  5. Supplier and Vendor Management:
    • Establish and maintain relationships with dealerships, manufacturers, and other fleet service providers.
    • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance, ensuring quality service and cost-effective solutions.
    • Collaborate with external partners on developing shared savings opportunities for both the customer and internally.
  6. Compliance:
    • Ensure the team and processes are up to date on all compliance aspects relating to registration, DQF and other regulatory requirements for the locations specific to our customers’ operations.
    • Ensure all departments have a transparent method of providing data through self-service or push to our customers including supporting any required audits.
  7. Sustainability and Innovation:
    • Explore and implement sustainable practices leveraging technology and automated & scalable processes.
    • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to keep the fleet operations competitive and future ready.
    • Drive initiatives that enhance our customers’ fleet efficiency, improve operational uptime and lower costs. 

Key Competencies and Minimum Education

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in fleet operations or logistics management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
    • Demonstrated success in managing all aspects of large-scale fleet operations.
    • Proven experience in budgeting, financial management, and cost control within a fleet environment.
    • In-depth knowledge of fleet management systems, telematics, and related technologies.
    • Strong background in regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
    • Proficient in fleet management software, MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and other relevant tools. 
    • Executive Presence: Ability to create and present polished business reviews for internal and external C-suite executives.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Comfortable working in an ambiguous startup-like environment.
    • Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices and technologies in fleet operations.

Working Conditions

  • This is a senior-level executive position that may require travel to various company locations, fleet depots, or external supplier facilities.
  • Flexibility in hours, including the potential for after-hours or weekend work, depending on business needs.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of items (e.g., materials or documents).
