Position Summary

SUMMARY

This position’s primary responsibility is to supervise Vector contract managers in support of client contract compliance. This responsibility involves ensuring contract compliance, pricing integrity, team productivity, training programs, and safety. This position will oversee fleet maintenance and parts management contracts. This position is based in remotely, depending on territory of contracts. 

 

Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  In addition to interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

This is a remote-based position. We are considering candidates that are West-Coast based at this time.

 

Compensation: Competitive salary pay – paid weekly, every Friday! Salary range: $130,000-150,000

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safety program leadership and compliance
  • Establishes and enforces operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Establishes maintenance and repair operation procedures and policies in areas of techniques, materials usage, capacity planning, production scheduling, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and performance measures.
  • Directs implementation and execution of preventive maintenance and repair policies and practices throughout the company.
  • Recommends and implements strategic changes in operations.
  • Builds, develops and manages operations leadership team capable of carrying out needed operations strategies and improving employee relations.
  • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
  • Oversees operation budget to ensure compliance with company expenditure requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Insure VFM specific Purchasing Guidebook usage
  • Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Working with VFM training programs on usage by field operations
  • Minimum of five (15) days in the field per month, visiting with Site Managers and staff on client issues and needs

Key Competencies and Minimum Education

  • At least 5 years of class 1-8 vehicles or equipment management
  • MUST have experience with fleet contract management
  • Transportation Industry experience (specifically knowledge of Fleet Maintenance) i.e. Heavy Duty trucking, Over the Road or On Road Delivery Fleet preferred
  • MUST be willing to travel at least 60%
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office, with a focus on Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Ability to articulate complex solutions to prospects from local Managers to C-level officers
  • Discipline: a proven track record as a self-starter and adherence to sales metrics with a very strong work ethic
  • Strong customer orientation, with a high level of comfort making cold calls and quickly developing rapport with prospective clients
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and operational level

The employee will occasionally stoop, kneel, bend, crawl, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances, lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items. The noise level is consistent with those in an office environment.

 

Frequent national travel up to 60%.
