Trailer Mechanic

Amerit Fleet Solutions, one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the US, is looking to hire a skilled Trailer Mechanic in Bridgeport, PA! The Trailer Technician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of Class 7 - 8 trailers and will operate vehicles and test all working parts in various functions to ensure proper operation. Must have experience keeping our Highways Safe repariing and inspecting Heavy-Duty Semi-Trailers, including Air Brakes, Wheel Seals, Lift Gates, DOT Inspections and more.

Compensation: Competitive Hourly Pay - Paid weekly, every Friday!

Shifts:

Monday- Friday 3:00 PM- 11:30 PM

Monday- Friday 11:00 PM- 7:30 AM

Pay: $25-$30/hr (depending on experience)

What the Trailer Mechanic role looks like:

• Prepare vehicle records and report both manually and on a computer
• Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documentation required
• Inspect and perform work on the under parts of vehicles
• Access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance
• Move parts to and from the job site and remove or install these parts on vehicle
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
• Perform other duties as required

What our ideal candidate looks like:

• Must have at least 2 years' experience performing vehicle and trailer maintenance.
• Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle to determine if operating properly
• Must be able to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds
• Must provide own hand tools
• Perform DOT inspections
• Basic computer skills
• Basic written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
